Checkered Florals

novemberblog130_zps5a7926c1

Hello all! Marlen from Messages on a Napkin here wishing you a happy Monday :)

Today I'm styling a strapless dress I borrowed from Rachel at Floral Prints and Common Sense.  Snow on the ground? Breath coming out in puffs? Frost on your nose? Who says you need to put away those summer dresses.

I love the look of a strapless dress over a collared shirt- it's a fun extra layer and gives you a chance to mix and match different patterns without being too loud.  I like how it looks like a vest when layered under a skirt, and one can never go wrong with mixing floral with plaid!  I hope this gave you some new ideas when looking at your summer pieces.

But....if you happen to catch pneumonia, don't blame me ;)

  4. Oh, I love it! I don't think I own any strapless dresses simply because I wasn't sure how I was going to wear them. This is great inspiration though! Such a unique twist on the dress, and I can't believe what a great find that skirt was.
