Can Do No Wrong
Hey all! If you can't tell with blonde hair, it's Kristian here from Never Fully Dressed (Without a Style), rocking this sweet polka dot number from that Southern California Belle, Ashley! The shirt itself was actually a bit of a puzzle to me (and so I kept it longer than I probably should have; sorry Ashley! It's on it's way back to you now though, promise). With the crop shirt trend taking the (blogging) world by storm this summer, I'd been really wanting to try it too. But- showing midriff? A bit extreme for me and my pocketbook, but Ashley had this one, so I thought I'd give the trend a go! But what's cropped on one girl ain't on another... luckily dots can do no wrong, and tucked in it looks to fit fine.
Dots are nice in that they are a pattern that can act as a neutral, so the green in this skirt really shone. The leafy background is a bit of an anomaly in Wyoming, as any of my blog readers can probably attest. Mountains? Fine. Desert? Okay. Rocks and just a whole lot of brown? We're aces with anything brown. But leafy green? Not so much. But the owner of this little cafe might be magic because her fence is covered in these vines. The cafe, the Tea House, is a strange off-beat place. No menu, except for teas; you get whatever they wan to serve that day. Trinkets and lace are everywhere like some combination of a grandmother's parlor and a little girl's day dream of a tea party. The food is delicious and the tea choice extensive, but it is only open a few hours on week days, so it's a rare day one can go there. So excited to say today is that day!
What tea would you have?
You know who else would make a good tea party guest? Ashley in this! Take a look and see what I mean. She styled it so well.

I'm a big fan of mixing polka dots with other prints. These two are a match made in heaven!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marisa!
DeleteI love using polka dots as a neutral too- much more fun than a plain white tee. I love this combo and that lovely green backdrop is perfect for it. We sure do love brown in AZ too :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI reeeeally love this combination on you, and umm blonde?!? I love it on you! And ohhh I adore tea houses! I always get earl grey :)

Earl Grey is a favorite of mine too <3
DeleteI think you've both done a lovely job styling it. Tea party themes are fabulous, as are tea parties themselves. My favourite tea at the moment has to be a hand blended lemon and ginger teas :)
ReplyDeleteDamn girl, ya look good! I musta missed your hair color change, I love it! And you did a fantastic job styling it, I love all the colors in this look.
