Plum Crazy

My natural instinct with a solid color dress is to layer it up, but seeing as the average day around these parts is hovering in the vicinity of 110ยบ, layers were not in my cards. Instead I reached for my straw hat, a loud floral belt, and partially clear shoes that found their way to my closet not too long ago. I recently thrifted these fun shoes that remind me of a lounge singer or a character on Dallas- and I mean that in the best way :)

dress: borrowed from Ashley // shoes, belt, hat: thrifted

This cotton dress really is the best kind of sundress- lightweight and breathable, and the criss-cross back straps and fabric texture add subtle details. I really love how Ashley jazzed it up with fun patterns and green shoes- you can see from her styling that this dress really is perfect for summer and layering in cooler temps!

How do you keep your outfits interesting when it's too hot for layers?
