Making it Work

Hello my dears! This is Katie of Butterfly Loves Snapdragons :) Did you all have a splendid weekend? I was spending it celebrating my nephew's fourth birthday party which was so fun. He's really into superheros and Buzz and Woody (he got his very own talking Woody doll which was the BIG EVENT of the night people!). It's the little things that make one happy :)

Here I'm wearing one of Jessica's lovely dresses in quite a fun shade of baby blue. I love wearing dresses as tops. As one who is not a fan of the trendy hemlines of today's society it is such a great option to be able to throw a skirt over the top of the dress. It creates so many more wonderful possibilities and you still keep yourself covered up-win, win! And let's face it, the best part of this dress is the detail on the top as well as the color, so it was meant to be worn this way at least once in its lifetime. I thought that a cranberry shade would look so good with the baby blue hue of the dress, and then I topped it off with a black accessory on top and bottom! A little hodgepodge, but I feel that's where my style is headed these days :)

These photos were taken this fall, which explains the dreary sky in the background. It was actually raining while I was taking these!

Here is how the lovely Jessica and Elana wore this beauty of a dress!

See Elana's full post here.

Stunning, no?

I hope you have a wonderful Monday, keep all those smiles shining this week!
God Bless,
KJA

  4. god that dress *screams* elana- and i love the pleating on the bottom! and i can very much relate to you- my style is turning very hodge podge too (haha) but i absolutely love the look of it! take your outfit for example- it's so fun and creative and has so many wonderful things to look at. And I love how you make dresses into shirts- I do that all the time too because I'm not comfortable with super short lengths. So cute!

  5. I love how different yours is--putting that skirt over it really changed it up so much! You can't even tell it's the same dress, Katie. Ah, you are quite magical with your outfit skills. :D

This reminds me of Alice in Wonderland for some reason. The light blue, the hat, and the surreal-ish landscape... so neat!
