Hello there! It's Elana from Room 334, showing you one my absolute favorite pieces that I've borrowed so far: a polka dot dress from Ashely of Southern (California) Belle! I can't even explain how much I love Ashley, her blog, and her closet so when she surprised me by sending this dress to borrow, it just made me love her that much more. Ashley shares my love of fit and flare dresses so it's no surprise that the cut of it is what really made me enamored. Combine that with polka dots, and you have my perfect dress right here.
I snuck it a couple of wears out of this dress before I had to send it along and since I paired it with a cardigan the first time (as you can see by scrolling down), I wanted to layer it a bit different for a different look. I can't get enough of layering items over dresses to make them more versatile, so knotting this lavender Madewell button down seemed like the perfect fit to me. And while I'm starting to realize that I accidentally wear these oxfords in many of my Flock Together posts, they just always seem to work.
On an unrelated note, how frustrating is it when it's too bright outside for good pictures? That was my problem the day I took these, but they'll do.
The second way I wore it, here:
Of course, Ashley looks absolutely adorable in her dress. The mustard tights are pure brilliance.

Loving the polka dots. Absolutely gorgeous. Polka dots are my favourite trend ever.

ReplyDeleteI love the dots so much!!!
Aw how sweet of Ashley :) You look adorable Elana, you always know how to rock the polka dots! I love the idea of tying a button down over it! And you both look cute with the cardi and tights combo.

Both versions are adorable,I still need to try the whole tying a blouse over a dress thing, it always looks so cute on you! Such a sweet surprise from Ashley too! Her tights are amazing with the blue!
ReplyDeleteAw, you look adorable in this dress! I love both of the ways you styled it, too. It looks very cute with the purple button up. I don't think polka dots ever go out of style.
