Pink Posies

Erica of Sweets and Hearts
I pretty much love high-waisted everything, so of course I asked to borrow Jenna's bright pink skirt! It has cute box pleats and a feminine flared shape to it, and the color is just so fun. I paired it with my red satchel, taupe heels, and a chiffon floral blouse I got for a few dollars at a fashion exchange store.

I was kind of annoyed that the fashion exchange store only took three of my things that I wanted to sell (which I got about $5 total for--sad), but I did find a few nice pre-owned pieces in excellent condition. It took a bit of hunting, but I ended up getting the blouse above, a dress, and a silk Laundry by Shelli Segal top for a few dollars each, so it was worth it in the end.

Outfit Details:
Red ditsy floral chiffon peasant blouse (Alythea)
Pink high-waisted pleated skirt (Urban Outfitters; swap from Jenna)
Red faux leather crossbody satchel (Vieta)
Taupe cutout wedge heels (Alloy)
Gold heart charm choker (Juicy Couture)

Here's how Jenna styled the skirt for winter:
Jenna of Smitten
I love how she layered it with dotted tights, a scarf, and a motorcycle jacket for a chilly day! My outfits have been pretty stripped down for summer because of the hot weather--I'm already looking forward to fall.

Enjoy the weekend!

  1. Love the way you styled this! That skirt is an amazing color.

  2. I love the two ways you have worn this skirt! So pretty. Thanks so much for sharing your impeccable style! Happy Friday! xx. McKenna Lou

  4. Oh, lovely, lovely. I'm really digging how you chose such a feminine take on it, since Jenna's take is more edgy. Shows how versatile the skirt is. Plus, I like the color pink on you so much.

  5. Ohhhh I love the way you styled it!! It looks great with that pretty blouse. I definitely want to try to style it more feminine next time I wear it now :)

  6. so fun to see two completely diff looks! Erica's is def a way I should wear it to work and Jenna's so I can look hipper on weekends.

  7. I love that bright pink skirt (it's my favourite colour) but I love the blouse you paired it with even more! The pretty ruffles around the neckline and slightly puffy sleeve, the beautiful print, the way its gathered are all perfection, and the colours of your blouse and that skirt look like they were meant to be styled together. I love that outfit!

  8. Cute! I love seeing that it can work through all seasons! I absolutely love that high waisted is in.

  11. Hi! nice skirt!
    lovely blog, followin u ;)
    kisses from Spain,

  12. Your outfit is so sophisticated! I love the blouse and skirt. Despite all that pink it manages not to look childish which I think lots of pink sometimes does. The blouse is just perfect with it.

  13. This skirt is pretty perfect on you and I love the floral top you paired with it. Now I want to borrow it lol!

  14. Jenna's skirt is SO pretty- i really like the boxy pleats! and those swap stores are bordeline awful- i hate seeing 30 pounds of clothes sell for like ten bucks, haha. but there are some awesome steals there- like your blouse! :)

  15. What a versatile skirt! I love high-waisted things (in theory, not necessarily always on me). Also: $5 is better than nothing!

  16. That skirt is just so adorable! Oh my gosh, that color is great!

  17. I totally loved this post!!! Really great inspiration! tell me if you would like to follow each other! I follow you back for sure - Lots of Love, Kyra♡

  18. That top is super pretty! And such a good deal. I agree though, those places never take much of what I bring to sell. I always end up spending more than I get! I love this skirt it's been one of my favorites! :)
