The Further

Erica of Sweets and Hearts

In case you haven't visited my blog in a while, here's how my haircut turned out. My hair was originally near my waist, so I chopped off quite a bit. It feels so much fresher and lighter now. I'm even looking at my hair accessories and hats with a renewed interest.

I was next in line to borrow this navy polka-dot dress from Elana. It has a bow at the neck and sheer sleeves. The first thing I did was throw on a hat, then I added a braided belt, knee socks, ankle boots, and a crossbody bag.

Also, it's impossible to take my outfit photos without my dog creepin' into at least one of my shots (which usually get deleted or edited, but I was a little lazy). So he ends up being a little fluffy white blur in the background.

Outfit Details:
Navy long-sleeve polka-dot dress (Urban Outfitters; borrowed from Elana)
Brown braided belt (came with another dress)
Black suede ankle boots (Levity)
Black suede scalloped crossbody bag (Topshop)
Black knee-socks (Forever 21)
Black cloche hat (Forever 21)

I find it refreshing to see how these girls used the navy as a neutral and paired it with another color. Elana styled it with a sunshine yellow cardigan while Jessica wore it with berry red tights. It inspires to me to be more adventurous with navy in the future.

Feel free to check out my blog for more style and beauty posts.
Happy Monday!

  2. That Urban Outfitters navy long-sleeve polka-dot dress is lovely. I like the sheer sleeves and overlay. It looks fabulous the way you styled it with the black Forever 21 knee-socks and cloche hat.
