The Vintage Guide to Popping Your Collar

Hello all! Katie from Butterfly Loves Snapdragons here to show off one of Elana's stunning blouses.

Are you all coming down from your turkey high yet? Or maybe your family doesn't eat turkey. I thought it was so weird when I found out that my husband's family eats ham on Thanksgiving, what is up with that? ;)

Ah, well on to the outfit:
Let's just say I LOVED everything about this blouse. It has a huge, glorious collar, it is sleeveless, and can we all be honest in saying that it is the most perfect color? Not to mention the fact that it is a nice, silky material that layers very well. You should be hearing birds sing and seeing flowers bloom all around you right about now. It really is that awesome :)
I think that a versatile, collared blouse should be a staple for every woman's wardrobe. You can wear it alone with a pair of jeans, tuck it into high waisted skirts and shorts, or layer it under (and over) dresses. The possibilities really are endless!

I wanted to throw a lot of color into this palette so I wore my favorite newly found dress and my grandmother's double breasted wool cardigan. It was perfect for a day out with the hubby doing a bit of shopping!
Of course I had to throw in a vintage dragonfly hairpin to complete the look. Also, I must admit to you that I throw these boots on with pretty much everything I wear. They are just the perfect contrast to any sweet little dress!

Here is how the ever adorable Elana styled this gem (can we all agree she has the cutest smile EVER?) :

You can see the full original post here. I seriously want her amazing high-waisted shorts!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead. Do all of you have a favorite blouse you love to wear over and over?

God Bless,
KJA

  1. That's funny - my hubby's family eats pasta (being Italian) but they do have turkey as a second course :)

Now I probably sound like a broken record, but wow Katie - another stellar color combo and I love how you've layered Elana's blouse up here. Again, I am completely swooning over your thrift finds!

  3. I would be so bummed if my Thanksgiving didn't have turkey...or stuffing! And i LOVE how you play with colors! I like how you didn't just wear it as a top but layered it under a vibrant blue dress. it really made that collar stand out.
