Floral Skirt Remix

Abandoned-7
i've come down with the plague (well, not really, but sure feels like it!), so rather than an entirely new outfit to share, I thought I'd show off some of the ways  I and other Flock Together Bloggers have styled one of my favorite skirts! Handmade, and found in a thrift store on vacation, this skirt actually gets far more use than its appearances on blogs may imply. Still, here are three ways I love to wear it:

BlackAndFlower-05

One of the best parts of swapping is the inspiration you get from seeing others wear that skirt or dress you think has exhausted all possibilities...when, lo and behold, in the hands of another the possibilities are endless. I love how both Dus and Katherine styled these and wish I could have found larger photos for you, but click the links to see more!

Conehead

Hey it's Jessi! I'm posting a little late today so I'll be quick. The Hubby and I ended up with the same weekday off of work so we're enjoying a fun day together!
I love a cutesy print, so when I saw Katherine's ice cream print dress I just couldn't resist! How sweet is it? This would be a perfect summer dress to wear to picnics and barbecues but I got it on a chilly Spring day so I decided to pair it with my fur collared sweater and some funky heels.
I wasn't the only one who couldn't resist this colorful cone printed frock! It's definitely been making it's rounds. Here's how the other girls wore it, I love all the fun colors and creative layering!

Well, have a happy Thursday! Stop by my blog for outfit details if you feel inclined :)

The Scoop

Hello hello there darlings,

Marisa here today and being that I am currently 30 weeks pregnant - all I have on my mind lately is ice cream, and water ice, and custard.  Scoops and scoops of it, especially as the weather is starting to warm up.  Being that these icy cold confections are part of my craving as of late - I thought this little ice cream print dress from Katherine, was the perfect piece to celebrate my love for the creamy treat.

Of course, photos never happen in real time and as you can see these ones were taken pre-baby bump and before the snow melted, but nonetheless, my love for this dress and ice cream still remain. :-)

Outfit Details:
Dress: Swap via Katherine // Hat & Shoes: UO // Shirt & Tights: Target // Necklace: Etsy

Check out how sweetly perfect Elana, Katherine, and Jessica styled this delicious little number up.

That's all for now darlings.   It's a sunny one today and the ice cream is a-callin.

Of Peter Pan Collars & Purple

I have never worn a peter pan collar. In theory, I love them. I love them on girls, I die for dresses with them, but I never end up with them. So this was the first time I have actually even worn a peter pan collar! This dress has birds on it, one of my favorite things (everything with animals, all of the time), and is purple, one of the scariest things to me. I don't do purple well. So tell me, do I look wrong in peter pan collars and purple?

I think Elana pulled this one off a lot better than me - gotta love those brogues and glasses as accessories! Click to see more images of her take on this dress here.

Since Elana is a journalism major, I thought this typewriter necklace I got as a gift was the perfect nod to her!

Simply Sweet

Hi there!  It's Ashley of Southern (California) Belle again showing you a remix of a gorgeous purple dress.  Katherine, the talented blogger behind Of Corgis and Cocktails, is definitely one of my favorite reads.  Not only does she have a spectacular wardrobe filled with envy-worthy dresses, she can take amazing pictures, cook like nobody's business, and mix a mean drink.  I'm always inspired by her blog and love being able to show my take on her pieces.  Unfortunately, this will be the last time I get to swap with Katherine.  Being the busy woman she is, she had to step down from Flock Together.  I'm going to miss her (and her amazing wardrobe)!

Dress- Swap from Katherine
Tights- Forever 21
Shoes- H&M
Bracelet- Forever 21
Belt- Forever 21

This dress is actually perfect for summer but can be easily layered for winter.
I love adding prints to to solid pieces, not only because I think it makes it more dimentional, but because I'm not the biggest accessories person.

Here is Katherine's take on her dress:

I love her sumer vibe and her yellow and gold accents.  Laker colors!

It just goes to show that you can take many "summer" pieces from your wardrobe and layer them up for the colder seasons.  It's all about getting the most from your wardrobe!

Remix :: Sparkle Skirt

Years ago I stumbled across this sequin skirt in a Gap in Cleveland, one left, and technically a size too small. Well, I guess I lucked into this skirt running a bit large and a size 2 fitting perfectly. Since then, I've worn it to parties, work, and now have lent it out to Jessica and Ashley, both who look stunning in it. Click the images to see more of each outfit!

Dresses Make Me Hungry

Hello Flock Together readers! It's Elana from Room 334 here, sharing Katherine's delicious looking ice cream print dress! I had made no effort to hide my love for this dress every time I saw Katherine wearing it on her blog, so the moment she asked if I wanted to borrow it, I couldn't contain my excitement.

I'm all for simplicity, so I didn't want to take away from the adorable print with over-accessorizing. I tried layering it a million different ways (it is January after all), but nothing seemed quite right until I threw this lace dress underneath. I'm a strong believer that there is no such thing as too many dresses. Ever. I slipped on my olive tights and chocolate brown boots and voila! A look good enough to eat in my eyes.

Katherine has worn this dress a couple of times on her blog and I think we can all agree that she's been pretty much perfect in it every time.

Problem Solving

Hello there! It's Elana from Room 334, showing off Jessica's darling ombre dress. I had had my eye on this one forever, so when I got my hands on it this week, I couldn't resist photographing it for Flock Together right away! Side note: I apologize for how dark my photos are, my computer has been acting up so I just have to deal.

I knew right away that I wanted to wear this with motorcycle boots and a blazer - the colors and style of the dress seemed to work perfectly with both tough and classic items. I did, however, run into the same problem as Ashley and Katherine in that my chest did not allow me to wear this dress, uh, modestly. Jessica, on the other hand, is able to pull off everything, isn't she? I found it difficult to cover up the gorgeous detail on the bust, but I figured a fun scarf was a nice alternative to flashing people and a good way to solve the problem.

As it is with all of the items swapped here, it's so much fun to see how we can all style the same item so differently. I can't get enough of Ashley's knotted sweater, Jessica's perfect accessorizing, or Katherine's spot-on colors.

I hope all of our lovely readers are having fun gearing up for the holidays! I know I am, back home in sunny California. Make sure to keep up with us on our Facebook and Twitter!
