TGIF! I am so ready for the weekend, are you with me?!
It's Jessi again, sharing Hannah's awesome vintage denim dress! This beauty is a perfect Summer staple, so easy to just throw on! It matches with just about anything too, the denim makes a great neutral. Since these pics are from last month when things were a bit cooler (not the 100 degrees we've had as of late!) I decided to layer it with tights, boots, and a cute pair of socks! I loved the stripes on the inside of the collar so I decided to take it a step further and wear a striped blouse underneath.

Tights - Nordstrom Rack
Socks - H&M
Boots - Rue 21
And here's how the lovely Hannah herself wore it! I love the color scheme she has going with the army green, leather and maroon bow in her hair. Funny that we both wore black tights and tan shoes! Oops :)
Hey There it's Jenna fromSmitten!! I am blogging over here styling this absolutely gorgeous skirt I got to borrow from Jen. I absolutely could not resist the blush colour and the fact that it has pockets. I must apologize for the wrinkles, I had ironed it the night before I was taking these photos but alas! They appeared again!
I actually wore this skirt a few times, I couldn't help but pair it with white, black or grey everytime. There's just something about those colour combinations that I just cannot resist!! I love the way it looked with this low back striped bodysuit I picked up from a local boutique.
Hello! Hannah here from The Braided Bandit. As soon as Elana posted pictures wearing her gorgeous green dress from August Wrinkle, I instantly fell in love with it. Green is already my favorite color, but combined with the light flouncing layers, scalloped hem, and sequined detailing, it is seriously perfect!

This is one of those pieces that almost everyone in the group has tried, which is my favorite type of piece to post in because you get to see how everyone styled it! I decided to go with my newest addition to my DIY floral crown collection and lace up vintage boots for a bit of a whimsical look. Though I was sad I had to send it along to the next gal in line, I was so happy to get the opportunity to borrow such a beautiful piece- thank you Elana!
Here is how the other girls have styled it so far. I'll tell ya', this group is brimming full of such stylish and creative people and I love everyone's different take on this dress.
Hey guys! Leah from We Live Upstairs here, styling Erica's yellow dress. 99% of the time, when I've received things in the mail from the FT girls, everything looks exactly like I remember it, and fits pretty perfectly. But this time, when I put this dress on, the ruffles I'd so loved on all the other girls didn't exactly do me any justice. They made my un-small chest look just...well...frumpy. But I still really loved the color of the dress, and definitely wanted to find a way to wear it that wouldn't make me feel self-conscious. Hence, the dress-under-skirt combo + jacket!
Wearing the dress this way still allowed me to glean the bold color I so loved from it, while eliminating the my-boobs-look-abnormally-large-right-now-and-I'm-not-a-fan situation. Win/win, yes? Also, I am a ride-or-die boots & socks girl. And also a dashes-between-words girl, apparently.
Outfit Details: Dress: Erica's Skirt: Forever 21 (several years ago) Jacket: Thrifted Boots: Old Navy Necklace, Socks: Target
Check out how some of the other Flock Together ladies have styled this number:
I love Hannah's pink coat with the yellow, and the simplicity of Jen's cardigan with it is so effortless. This is one of those pieces that has made its rounds to nearly everyone in the group, and I think that's really cool.
Happy Monday! It's Elana from Room 334, wearing a striped shirt dress I borrowed from Jenna of Smitten. When I first tried on this dress, I was disappointed. It was unbelievably cute, what with those subtle stripes and cute buttons, but alas, it was much to small for my bust. I sadly let it sit on my desk for a couple of weeks, hoping that it would magically fit, only have it mock me the entire time. Then, when I realized that I needed to send it back, I decided that I couldn't give up. I knew what I had to do. It was simple, really.
I looked to Jenna to inspire me, and thus, my look consisting of summer layers was born.
Jenna is the queen of the scarf + jacket + satchel combo, so it was only fitting that I put my own spin on her signature. It was a warm day, but luckily a lightweight cardigan and floral scarf weren't too unbearable. I just got this bag in a swap recently, and Jenna immediately came to mind. In the end, a dress that I thought I could never make work turned into one of my favorite summer looks so far.
Here's how Jenna layered the dress in the winter. Isn't that pink leather jacket just to-die-for?
Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my lightweight layers with you! Make sure to stop by my blog for the outfit details, and don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @flocktogetherstyle!
Wedding season is always an exciting time, but this one is an especially special one for the Flock Together girls. Our very own Kristian tied the knot just yesterday and Leah's wedding is just around the corner. To celebrate, both our group roundup and our style challenge for June will be wedding themed. First up, we're sharing our wedding playlist picks today. We had a ton of fun choosing songs, enjoy! And congrats to Kristian and Leah, plus any of our blogger friends who are getting hitched this month!
Jessica of Midwest Muse- "Northern Wind" by City and Colour
I picked "Northern Wind" by City and Colour. City and Colour is one of those bands that I will love forever. Dallas Green's songs are so sweet and romantic. I'm not the only one that thinks this because when I saw them at Red Rocks, six people got engaged during the song "the Girl". I think this song would melt my heart (and everyone else too) if it were played at a wedding.
Erica of Sweets and Hearts - "You've Got the Love" by Florence + the Machine
Don't get me wrong--I love jazzy standards and classic oldies at weddings like everyone else (Sinatra, anyone?), but Florence + the Machine's "You've Got the Love" would be absolutely refreshing and fun for a wedding too! It's a little unconventional--which is probably why I like it--but it's definitely one of those songs that's bound to put everyone in a good mood.
Jen of JennifHsieh - "Home" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
This song gets me every time. Besides the fact that this song is all around perfect, I picked it because it has special meaning to me. I would always play this song in the car while I drove and it was my anthem last summer. In August, a month before my boyfriend left to teach abroad for ten months, I was blasting this song while he drove and he surprised me by singing the guy's part and my heart melted into the biggest puddle. He'll be back home in a week now and I can't wait to be home with him again.
I picked Neil Young's "Harvest moon", because Neil is one of my all time favourite artists. This song is slow and romantic, and the sentiment is of people who have been in love for quite a while. Not to mention the fact that the music video is of Neil and his wife dancing together. I've always thought that if I did ever decide to tie the knot I'd love to dance to this song.
Dus of Cuddly Cacti- "All the Single Ladies" by Beyonce
I can't take credit for this idea; a friend of mine went to a wedding where this was played for the bouquet toss and I thought it was just perfect and kind of hilarious. That's all. I'm not even really a Beyonce fan, well except when she was in Destiny's Child and I was 13 but I'm diverting from the wedding topic.
Elana of Room 334- "Never Gonna Give You Up" by The Black Keys
It's not just that The Black Keys is one of my favorite bands, but there's just something about this song that I can just imagine playing when things are starting to slow down. Not to be confused with the Rick Astley song of the same name (although let's be honest, there's always time to Rick Roll your guests at a wedding), this song about a guy being badly hurt by his girlfriend may not seem like the obvious pick, but there's still something romantic about him loving her no matter how badly she treats him. Right? Okay, I just really like this song.
Ok, this one is more of a cute "engagement song" since it's about popping the question, but I actually played it at my wedding reception along with an eclectic mix of lots of my other favorite love songs. The lyrics are so sweet and perfectly fitting for a wedding!
Thanks so much to Kristianfor lending me this black and white striped midi skirt! The stripes are very Parisienne, and I love the length too. I wanted to go for a classic and casual look, so I paired the skirt with a black blouse, chunky black pumps, and a bright blue envelope clutch to add some color. I threw my hair up in a giant clip to finish it off.
Outfit Details: Black oversized dolman shirt with low back (Jessica Simpson) Black and white striped midi skirt (ASOS; swap from Kristian) Oversized blue envelope clutch (c/o OASAP) Black chunky suede bow "Ampersand" pumps (Seychelles)
Kristian and Jennifer also paired the skirt with a black blouse. It's awesome how all of our outfits featured a plain black shirt but still have our individual touches. As for Marisa, I thought it was creative how she wore it as a dress!
Here's how Kristian originally wore it, as well as and Jennifer and Marisa's takes on it:
Doesn't this skirt just make you want to hop on a plane and jet on over to Paris?
Well, that's exactly how it makes me feel right now!
How would you style Kristian's black and white striped midi skirt from ASOS?
Enjoy the rest of your week!
I have some birthday plans to finalize (I'll be 25 on Sunday!).
Lucky you getting to see me twice in a row! (but really, I'm sorry if you're sick of me;) ) Anyway, today I'm showing off Jessica's way-too-adorable bicycle cardigan! This was one of those super hard-to-part-with pieces that you just wish you owned! I mean seriously, look at it! Could it get any cuter?! Since it's a softer green hue I decided it would be a good match with the mint high-waisted shorts my sweet Hubby recently bought me. Add in some stripes and cute rain boots and this look was an instant favorite! Nothing like beautiful clothes to brighten a cold windy day!
Here's how both Jessica and Ashley have styled this beauty:
Don't they both look gorgeous? I love the pale green and pink combo so much! (those were actually my wedding colors!) and I like that Ashley brought out the blue bicycles with her fun dress!
